CHARACTER
Name: Ella (shortened from Eleanor)
Canon: Cinderella (2015)
Age: 19
Timeline: Just after the first dance at the ball
Items with character at canon point: Her magic dress, obviously, and a pair of glass slippers. The magic dress will turn into her torn pink one at midnight after she arrives.
If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: N/A
Personality: Ella is a very kind young woman and has been since she was a small child. She often tried to keep things fair and peaceful with the animals on her family land and the house mice she fed. It was in those early stages of her life that Ella began to believe the animals could understand her, and that she could understand them more-or-less, and that magic existed. She had absolutely no doubts about magic and fairy godmothers being real. And she always saw the best in those around her. Even once she’s grown up and made little more than a servant by her step family, she tries to see the good in them and treats them with kindness at every turn despite their disdain for her.
She’s also clever and quite brave. When her step-sisters drove her to riding into the forest, Ella had absolutely no problems with scolding Kit, whom she’d just met and hadn’t realized was the prince. She believes that some traditions are ridiculous, their hunting for example. “Just because it’s what’s done, doesn’t mean it should be done.” Hunting for food is acceptable to her, though sad, hunting for sport is not.
Early in her life Ella lost her mother who was a large part of her life and the one responsible for encouraging her open-mindedness, her acceptance of things that everyone else considered nothing more than stories. Despite her mothers death, Ella did not fall into despair. She still had her father and was thankful that she still had him. Years later though, after he remarried, he died as well. Through all this, Ella kept the memories of her parents and all the happy times they’d had very close to her heart, realizing that they weren’t completely gone. And she still doesn’t allow this to negatively impact her behavior, her heart. She keeps in mind her mothers last bit of advice to her: have courage and be kind. This shapes her into who she is later in life.
It’s shown that, after her step-mother makes her their servant, that Ella is a very hardworking young woman. Even before that, she made efforts to help the servants of the household by gathering eggs and whatnot for them. Once they were dismissed, she took over the cooking and cleaning and other ridiculous chores thought up for her. And did them well, reminding herself that things would have to someday get better. And they did. Even hurt by her step-family tearing her dress to bits, she still helped and old beggar woman in the garden by giving her a bowl of milk. A beggar woman who turned out to be her fairy godmother.
Even in the end, after Kit finds her and discovered that she was the “mystery princess” from the ball, she remains a kind young woman, turning to look at her step-mother and telling her that she forgave her.

Prose Log Sample:
Ella had managed, by some miracle, to find a horse that would let her ride. Small freedoms like that were a blessing, she rarely had so many chances back home with her stepmother and sisters. Most of her days had always been filled with cooking and cleaning and tending to their most ridiculous of needs. Nothing like that stopped her here and she was taking advantage of it.
With a smile, she encouraged the horse to go faster across the field. The wind in her hair felt better than anything she could remember except for hugs from her parents. She pulled back on the reins suddenly though as a dragon flew overhead towards the mountain, panicking both her and the horse.
“Shh, easy boy!” Ella had no heart to mention the dragon so close, to have someone try to kill it. And she had no desire for her or the horse to be eaten.
“Come on boy, let’s get back to the city.”
